What is GlasgowBigAd.com?GlasgowBigAd.com is a young Glasgow portal website offering low-cost, long-term advertising for local businesses and organisations, as well as Networking opportunities. At the same time we are offering great deals, regular competitions, features on the city and an ever-expanding colourful window into the cosmopolitan, vibrant, modern city of Glasgow.
The ad-space on our homepage is split into 'squares' in the two grid boxes. The larger box is for commercial businesses, where we sell the 'squares', and the smaller box is for non-profit, charity and educational bodies, where we offer these squares at no charge. This way of selling ad-space was originated by a student named Alex Tew with his very successful milliondollarhomepage website. We have taken the concept, adapted it, and produced a website especially for Glasgow. Why should I buy space on your website?For the lowest advertising rates around we offer;

How much does this cost?Each of our ad-space 'boxes' costs £5.00 (plus VAT).
The minimum purchase is four of these squares (  ) for a total cost of £20.00 +Vat(GBP). Who can place an ad on your site?If you are a business, group, organisation or individual offering services or products in the Glasgow area, and providing your website cannot be deemed to be offensive in any way, then you may purchase ad-space. If you are unsure whether you qualify or not, please e-mail us.
NB. If we deem your site to be unsuitable for children, it will not be accepted. What can I link?You can place a link on your selected squares to your company or community website. How do I get my logo/image onto the GlasgowBigAd?This is very easy.
- Click ‘Buy Space’
- Select where on the BigAd you want your image to be placed by clicking each box that you would like.
- Upload your image (jpg, gif or png) by browsing your computer to select an image, or choose one of the images available at the bottom of the page (this will be automatically resized to your selected area).
- You will then be prompted to enter your website address and a description (including the text that will appear in a little box that pops up when a visitor hovers their mouse over your image).
- Payment can then be made easily and securely using Credit or Debit card via Paypal (you do not have to have an account with them).
If you would prefer not to use the automated procedure please e-mail us and we will do it for you.How do I make a payment?You can make a payment through our online secure payment option, PayPal. PayPal now allows customers to pay using their credit/debit cards without an account. Immediately after uploading your image you will be directed to the secure PayPal site where you will be presented with a choice of how you would like to pay. Alternatively, by contacting us, you can make your payment by cheque. Do I have to pay VAT?Yes, you will have to pay VAT. This will automatically be added on to your overall total cost. How will people find my ad if it’s only going to be a small square?Many people enjoy just browsing the homepage so it is worth trying to make your logo stand out in some way. However any company with ad-space will also be listed in the A-Z drop-down directory so that visitors not wishing to browse the GlasgowBigAd can still find your company, product or service, easily and quickly.
Also, if you make use of our Offers and Events pages, people will see your company name even more. Who can use the ‘free’ ad-space box at the bottom of the homepage?The ‘free’ ad-space box at the bottom of the homepage is for registered charities and non-profit organisations only, they must either be based in, or working within the Glasgow area. The may add their logo and link free of charge. We are a registered charity/non-profit organisation, how do we add our link?You can either upload your link and image yourself by going to the 'Buy Space' page, or alternatively you may contact us at info@glasgowbigad.com. I have submitted a link, when will it appear on the GlasgowBigAd homepage?Your link and image will normally be activated and published on the GlasgowBigAd within 24 hours after payment has been received. Following payment and before publishing, your website will be vetted for approval. If we do not approve your site you will receive a refund. Can I change my image or text after my link has been submitted?Yes, if you have good reason to do so, for example you have a new byline or logo. Please e-mail us at info@glasgowbigad.com with your changes. They will normally be implemented within 24 hours. You may also remove your logo and link at any time but there will be no refund and that space will become available again. I want to buy space for my website but my site isn’t online yet?You may purchase your space and it will be reserved until your site is ready.
